At the Autumn Term Celebration, we met with many parents and important visitors from around Peterborough to tell them about the different projects we have been working on in school council.
Safer Internet Day was on the 7th February 2017. The School Council created two videos for this, one for Reception and key stage 1 and one for key stage two.
The School Council members for Reception, Year 1 and 2 created a video around Digiducks Big Decision. This video was played during snack and story. Each class then had a discussion about keeping safe online. We also talked about which of the holistic intelligences Digiduck would have used.
Lindsay Buck, who is the author of Digiducks Big Decision tweeted about our video.
In key stage 2 we created a video on some top tips for our classmates to keep themselves safe whilst online and what to do if they thought they were being bullied online.
Promotion of the Spring Fayre Three members of the School Council from Reception and Key Stage 1 helped to promote the Fulbridge Academy Spring Fayre. We loved being out in the community and representing our school.
The School Council ran two stalls at the Spring Fayre: ‘name the bear’ and ‘guess the amount of sweets in the jar’. We raised over £50 on our stall. We even had the Deputy Mayor and the Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson visit our us.
The School Council have recently created a fire safety procedure video. There are two videos, one which is to be used in staff and visitor inductions and the other to play to our students in the school to ensure they are aware of where to go and what to do if they see a fire or hear the fire alarm. Cambridgeshire Fire and rescue have shared our video on their website and social media and have even invited the star of our video to come and have a tour of Dogsthorpe Fire Station.
