Belonging Story Competition Our first task as a School Council member was to get take some instructions to our classmates and read to them details of a British Council & Commonwealth Class competition. The competition was to write a story on what ‘Belonging’ means to us. Many children across the school entered and wrote stories about belonging to Fulbridge Academy, sports clubs, place of worship and friends and family groups.

European Local Democracy Week
We did a lot of work around democracy during European Local Democracy Week. We held class discussions and learnt about the different Political Parties, election process and our Dance Group created European Local Democracy Week.
We met Pudsey Bear as part of Children in Need
Mr Epton-Smith set us all a challenge to give Pudsey a makeover. We had a very special visitor come and judge them. The special guest was Pudsey Bear from BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. Our visit was featured on Radio Cambridgeshire and the BBC website. As a school we raised over £1,252 for Children in Need.
Mr Epton-Smith met with two School Council Members to help with a report he has to write for School Governors about what the School Council have been up to. In this we discussed the holistic intelligence we use in school council. We agreed that the key intelligences we use in school council are Understanding, Collaborate, Responsibility and Community.
The School Council members in year 5 & 6 created an Anti Bullying video which was shared on our Social Media for National Anti-Bullying Week. As a school we will be doing lots of work on Anti Bullying in our Citizenship and Ethics lessons in December.
We hope you enjoy our video.
