L.O.L Parental Engagement October 2017
The focus of this half terms Parental Engagement was L.O.L (Language, Oracy and Literacy) with a particular emphasis on writing.
Our Reception children and parents started the session by sharing a book together, followed by learning the ‘m’ sound....mmmmm, munch, munch, munch! They also, had a visit from a 'monster' who loved eating anything he could see!
Our Year 1's and their parents/carers enjoyed their morning practicing their handwriting and then writing an invitation for Year 1's Dark Dark party which they had later on that week.
Year 2 read a book together, practiced precursive handwriting, followed by thinking and writing as many adjectives as they could to describe their Dark Dark party.
Year 3 & 4
Year 3 & 4 children and their parents looked at adjectives to describe their partner or their parent.
The next challenge was to use adjectives to describe the villains who stole their sheep. They looked back at the CCTV footage to help them.
Year 5 & 6
Year 6 used the five senses to write a description of 'no mans land'. They used this session to help and support their topic, World At War.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who came in this week. We hope you you all enjoyed learning alongside your child/ren. We hope to see you all next time.
